ClassroomReimagined.ai started with a big question:
What if the classroom itself could help students learn better?
Not someday. Not after a renovation. But right now, with the space you already have.
That question came from Randy Fielding: architect, educator, and the driving force behind this project. After decades designing schools around the world, Randy saw a pattern—students thrive in well-designed spaces, and flounder in ones that work against them.
This week, we’re introducing our paid Substack subscription to support the next chapter of Classroom Reimagined AIi:
🔸 Building new tools for teachers
🔸 Funding research and development of our AI-powered app
🔸 Sharing deeper insights and design strategies
🔸 Growing this community into a global movement for better learning environments
Before we ask for your support, we want to introduce you to Randy—the person, the purpose, and the possibilities behind this work.

Q: Why did you start Classroom Reimagined AI?
I started Classroom Reimagined AI because I saw a global problem. Most of the 1.3 billion learners and 80 million teachers around the world are stuck in classrooms that are inadequate, not just outdated, but uninspiring and disconnected from what learners actually need. Students deserve spaces that support their well-being, autonomy, comfort, and ability to self-regulate. They need personal space, places to collaborate actively or chill quietly, furniture that fits their needs, and room to move. Too many classrooms fall short—and I wanted to change that.
Q: Why introduce paid subscriptions now?
Because the free resources are just the beginning. We’re building an AI tool that helps educators redesign their classrooms based on real needs, not guesswork. Your support helps us make that tool better and accessible to more people.
We’re also training our own image generation model to create classroom designs that are not only more functional, but also beautiful—grounded in research and designed to nourish students’ minds and spirits. This is pioneering work. There’s no manual for training AI in this way, so we’re making thoughtful pivots as we go. Your support fuels that journey and helps ensure every learner—regardless of resources—has access to inspiring, effective learning spaces.
Q: What will paid subscribers get?
Subscribers receive early access to innovative design patterns, practical tools, exclusive Q&A sessions, and real-world stories from schools using Classroom Reimagined AI. You’ll stay connected to our progress and have a voice in what we build next, all within a growing community of educators and designers.

Q: What do you hope this becomes?
A global network of educators, designers, parents, and students who believe in the power of the environment to support well-being, improve learning outcomes, and build essential workforce skills. A community where sharing ideas and research leads to the continuous improvement of learning environments.
I envision a future where education leaders, facility managers, and designers collaborate seamlessly with teachers, students, parents, and community members. Where AI empowers these voices—not as an afterthought, but as co-designers—with tools to understand, imagine, and shape learning spaces that truly work.
Ultimately, I hope we create a shared language around learning and space—one that AI helps scale quickly, equitably, and beautifully, so that everyone can be part of the conversation.
Q: What’s your long-term vision?
A future where every learner—regardless of zip code—gets to learn in a space that supports their needs, sparks curiosity, and reflects their potential.

Q: What are you most excited about over the next 6–12 months?
Seeing educators use our AI tool in real time, and watching the ripple effects that thoughtful design has on student engagement, creativity, and well-being.
Q: In one sentence, what’s the future of classroom design?
The future of classroom design prioritizes learner agency, offering adaptable spaces for individual focus, group work, and active exploration—where students not only shape their learning paths, but refine their thinking through dialogue, critique, and collaboration.
